Sometimes in a yoga class, you may choose to skip sun saluations, or the sequence that includes down dog, plank and press ups. I will often suggest that people take a rest in child’s pose, but that doesn’t mean you need to be stationary.

Not only are there many different variations for child’s pose, there are also variations of gentle movements in child’s pose. This video goes through variations in the position and three variations of movement in child’s pose that include a spinal twist, side stretch and gentle flexion/extension for the spine.
